Linux SME/Architect :
High Level scope of work :
- Ability to Engineer and design Linux SLES and RHEL environments
- Experience in Engineering standards and best practices for both SLES and RHEL
- Able to develop a patch management system in enterprise distributions with both yum and zypper
- Ability to automate/script in some scripting language (perl, python, bash, etc.)
- Experience with kickstart and or automated provisioning mechanism
- Adequate understanding of LVM and hot filesystem sizing
- Enterprise I/O experience for both copper and fiber (teaming/bonding, multipath IO, NAS, SAN, preferably EMC and Shark)
- Experience in designing Linux “Clustering” techniques and technologies
- Hands on experience with implementing Linux on Virtual Machines and Bare Metal
- Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call escalation support
- Experience with Oracle RAC clustering
Minimum requirements for this position include 5+ years of experience of engineering in the IT field with Linux/Unix environments;(Red Hat and SUSE preferred) advanced level knowledge of Unix environments and all aspects of the primary product, program and technologies. You must also have the ability to function independently with minimal oversight/direction and instruct, guide and mentor lower level technical professionals. Proven ability to interface with non-technical users as well as engineering teams across the account.
