Lead Costing Engineer (Automotive)

Position Title: Costing Lead Engineer

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage a team of Cost engineers
  • Planning, execution, monitoring and taking corrective actions as when required.
  • Review and approve tooling cost and piece cost estimates
  • Preparing business proposals and presentations in costing and making presentation

Qualification: 
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering and/or MBA from an accredited university
  • Total : 10-12 years of OEM/  large tier 1, experienced in manufacturing and costing environment
  • Min  7  years of Piece Cost and Tooling cost Estimation Experience of different commodities
  • Experienced on manufacturing process like Sheet Metal, Plastics, Casting, Forging, Assembly and machining
  • Exposure to NX.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Ability to productively manage change
  • Excellent communication skills (Oral and Written)
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Advance Excel usage) 

Vehicle Costing Engineer


Position Title: Vehicle Cost Engineer  


Responsibilities: 
  • Overall vehicle cost tracking and governance throughout the vehicle program life which include:
  • Key person to maintain uniformity in the updated cost & continuous monitoring
  • Track overall vehicle cost (Tracked Vehicle Reports) & escalate cost variation
  • Vehicle Check Book Management
  • Support Purchasing in component piece  and Investment target costs
  • Update Status, Target cost including Risk & Opportunity in web portal & post verification
  • Manage all changes to the component cost & investment by corporate change management process
  • Coordinate with Engineering teams regarding roll up of Engineering change cost


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering   from an accredited university
  • Min 8 years of automotive experience and a min 3 year  experience in vehicle cost engineering
  • Knowledge about vehicle manufacturing process and familiarity of components and their approximate  costs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (Oral & Written)
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Power point is a must)

Preferred Qualifications:

  •   10-12 years of Automobile OEM/ Automotive ancillary industry experience
  •   Experienced on vehicle manufacturing processes
  •    MS Excel  Macros and MS Access

  • Effective team player giving proper directions while sharing any corporate activity
  • Ability to present ideas & concepts to management
  • Able to  prepare Business presentation
